Raymond J. Cremin

Raymond J. Cremin, died January 23, 2005 at the VA Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona., he was born in
New Haven, Connecticut, September 24th 1937.

Ray was a Senior Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy and enjoyed being in the Submarine Service. He
served on several boats, having qualified on the USS Quillback (SS424) in 1958. He also served on
USS Sea Poacher SS406, USS Croaker SS246, USS Daniel Webster SSBN626 and the USS Tullibee
SSN597.

Since his retirement Ray devoted much of his time to service organizations, the Disabled American
Veterans (Treasurer) VFW and American Legion (Past Commander) Submarine Veterans and Fleet
Reserves. Ray was also Past Fleet President of the Yavapai Shrine Club.

Ray is survived by his wife, Ellen; stepdaughter, Donna E. Witteman; stepsons, Bryon Rock Schmidt
and Kevin Rock Schmidt; sisters, Agnes Wells and Jean Ann Hansen, both of Albany, Ga.; brother,
Donald Cremin of Michigan; his favorite person, grandson Alexander C. Witteman, whom he treated as
his son; granddaughter, Brittany Schmidt; and grandson, Matthew Schmidt. There are also many
nieces, nephews and cousins.
